What's New AN IMPORTANT CALL TO ACTION! (Thanks Pat!) Unfortunately, the Codex Alimentarius was ratified July 4, 2005 in Rome. However, the US does NOT have to follow its standards, which limits our access to ALL herbs & supplements, as long as our Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), passed in 1994, stays intact: US law super-cedes harmonization with any other regulation. Unfortunately, there are numerous bills in Congress right now, sponsored by major pharmaceutical firms, that will essentially do away with this last protection for freedom as far as herbs, supplements and nutriceuticals go under the guise of "regulation." On the positive side, there is one bill that is pro- Health Freedom. Please go to http://www.healthfreedomusa. org/bills/ where you can make your grassroots stand for keeping DSHEA in place as it stands today. It will take only minutes of your time. It is mind-boggling that safe nutritional supplements are being attacked while the pharmaceutical companies continue to pour out extremely questionable, and frequently deadly, products. Of course, as usual, we must always follow the money trail, and the FDA appears to be in the pockets of the very firms they are called on to regulate. Why else would Vioxx, proven to have already killed almost 200,000 Americans, be allowed back on the market? PLEASE, do your part in stopping this insanity! Book Report Quantum Touch: The Power to Heal by Richard Gordon. I consider this book to be a guide to one of the simplest and oldest methods of healing there is: human touch. It is a codification, if you will, of how to channel life-force energy through your hands into another person or animal for their body to do as it will in healing itself. A very powerful tool! However, I also think Gordon does not pay enough attention to some basic breathing techniques that can help ground the individual. He also goes into some areas best left to those who have at least some body-working experience under their belts. But DO read it - it can help empower you and change your life! Just also include some of my basic breathing techniques given in Holistic Tools. A local Therapeutic Equine Massage Therapist, Jan Scott, is contemplating teaching a combination of Quantum Touch and some of the necessary preliminary work for anyone interested in developing their own abilities to aid themselves, their friends and their animals. This would be in addition to her separate official Quantum Touch Interactive Video Workshop for those who either have taken her first workshop or who have body-working experience. My friend Donna Covington, a human massage therapist, a therapist friend of hers and I have all taken the Interactive Video Workshop and are mightily impressed with it. Donna has already used it in her practice to help a gal who's foot bones were all scrunched up; following the work, they were all back to normal. And all my vertebrae are now normalized with some that haven't moved properly in years! You can make their job much easier with a simple idea that they are trying to get everyone to adopt: ICE. If you add an entry in the contacts list in your cell phone under ICE, with the name and phone number of the person that the emergency services should call on your behalf, you can save them a lot of time and have your loved ones contacted quickly. It only takes a few moments of your time to do. Paramedics know what ICE means and they look for it immediately. So ICE your cell phone NOW!
