| In April, 2004, the local feed store had an abundance of chicks which were not selling. Since they were giving them away, I brought some home. They were very weak, could not stand up for long periods of time and were not eating well. I attributed this to crowded conditions and to the fact that they were probably dehydrated because they couldn’t get to the water. I made a weak concoction of DynaPro and Dyna-Spark (2-3 drops each) in 1 cup water; they eagerly drank the water from the dropper. I did this every hour for 5 hrs. Basically until it was my bedtime. In the morning I couldn't believe it - they were all running around pecking eating and drinking. They were on their own! This was quite a revelation for me because I was going into this with a rather bad thought pattern as I have never had any luck with helping things so small; especially birds! I feed my chickens the PGR and Excel which I have for my horses plus Exotic Bird Formula. When they were chicks, I ground the PGR in a coffee grinder, but now they just receive it straight with the powders sprinkled on top. Because chickens are susceptible to a lot of respiratory infections, now and then I add some horse Hiscorbadyne. And of course they continue to receive 3-4 drops DynaPro daily in their water.
